portrAIt: An exploration of photography, promptography and the algorithmic mirror of AI

We have the opportunity to visit the latest exhibition at the Dead Dog Gallery at Durham Sixth Form Centre, Providence Row, The Sands, Durham, DH11SG on Thursday 8 October at 11.00am.

This exhibition of self-portraits was created by students from Durham Sixth Form Centre using traditional photography, generative artificial intelligence, cyanotype, mixed media and graphic design. Viewed together, these works examine the complex and often unsettling relationship that exists between technology, creativity and Identity.

portrAIt is not simply an exhibition about photography and artificial intelligence. It is an exploration of human creativity at a defining moment of technological change, where photography, digital innovation and individual responsibility converge to challenge our understanding of the artist’s role in society.
