‘Culture Companions’ is a programme of trips and visits to interesting places and spaces across County Durham.

The programme is provided by Age UK County Durham and is open to people aged from 50years and over, living or working in County Durham.

Sessions are supported by friendly volunteer hosts, so whether you’re coming along on your own or with a family member or friend you will be sure of a warm welcome.

We try to offer the visits free of charge and work closely with venues to ensure you have a great experience.

Recent visits have included tours of Redhills, Lumley Castle and the Victorian Tunnels in Newcastle and participants have also enjoyed Bollywood Dance sessions and getting creative as part of the Pippa Hale PET Project exhibition at Bowes Museum.
